Your Pride Jazzy Air changed what a power chair could do. Ten inches of seat elevation brought countertops, upper shelves, and eye level conversation back within reach, and because the seat raises and lowers while you are moving, you never have to stop and wait to participate. The Air button and PG VR2 joystick both control it, the 18 by 18 inch contoured high back sport seat reclines, and LED marker lights keep you visible. Two 12 volt batteries power all of it as a 24 volt pair.
That elevation motor draws from the same pair that drives the wheels, which is why battery capacity matters more on this chair than on a standard power chair. Riders who use the lift throughout the day, at the kitchen counter, at the table, at the store, notice their range falling short of the rated figures. When your pair wears down after 12 to 24 months, the lift is usually the first thing to feel sluggish.
We offer four MK Powered options for this chair, which sounds like a lot until you break it into two simple questions. First, how much range do you need? The U1 batteries at 31.6 amp hours are the standard fit, while the larger 40Ah class batteries give you meaningfully more distance per charge. Second, what conditions does your chair live in? AGM is the everyday choice and the better value. Gel handles deep discharges more gracefully and tolerates heat and cold better, which matters if your chair is stored in an unconditioned garage, lives in a hot or cold climate, or gets run down hard every day.
Within the 40Ah class you will notice the AGM is rated 45 amp hours while the gel is rated 40. That is normal: gel chemistry stores slightly less energy in the same case size but delivers more usable cycles in demanding conditions. It is a durability trade, not a downgrade. In the U1 size both chemistries are rated 31.6 amp hours, so there your range is identical either way.
MK has supplied the leading wheelchair and power chair manufacturers for decades, and all four options are sealed, completely maintenance free, and spillproof. Your batteries ship partially charged, which is standard for safe transport, so give them a full overnight charge before your first outing, then charge daily for the first two weeks. Installation takes about 25 minutes and the batteries are heavy, so a second set of hands helps: open the battery compartment, note which cable connects to which terminal, exchange the old pair for the new one matching red to positive and black to negative, and reassemble using your existing cables and hardware. Shipping is free, your order leaves our warehouse within three business days, and real people answer our phone whenever you have a question.
