Jazzy Ultra Light Replacement Lithium Battery

Pride specifies the 10Ah as the airline compliant battery, so if you fly with your chair, that is the one to order. Every order ships free with large print instructions.

Product Description

Your Pride Jazzy Ultra Light is the lightest Jazzy ever built, at 33 pounds without its battery, and it earns that name without giving up the things that make a power chair genuinely useful. It has larger 10.71 inch rear drive wheels, a roomier 18 by 18 inch mesh seat, front suspension, and rear lights that come on when you are moving. It folds nearly flat in seconds with an audible click that tells you the frame is locked, then tows behind you like a suitcase.

Pride builds this chair around two battery options, and the choice comes down to how you travel. The standard 10 amp hour pack weighs 5 pounds and is the airline compliant option, delivering up to 8 miles at 200 pounds and 7 miles at 300 pounds. The optional 20 amp hour pack weighs 7 pounds and more than doubles your range to 16.4 miles at 200 pounds and 14.4 miles at 300 pounds, which is a meaningful difference on full day outings.

One important note before you choose: Pride specifies the airline compliant battery as the 10Ah only. If flying is part of your life, order the 10Ah. Airline policies on the larger pack’s watt hour rating vary and it is not covered by that claim, so if you want maximum range and still fly occasionally, confirm with your carrier or keep a 10Ah on hand for trips. Plenty of Ultra Light owners keep both, since two packs together weigh only 12 pounds.

We stock the genuine Pride OEM packs rather than aftermarket substitutes. Pride states that airline approval of its chairs depends on using the original manufacturer battery, and that replacement or non-original equipment may not meet approval for air travel. On the 10Ah especially, that matters, since a generic battery could quietly cost you the capability you bought this chair for.

Your battery ships partially charged, which is standard for safe lithium transport, so charge it fully before your first outing. Installation takes minutes with no tools: power off the chair, release the old pack, seat the new one until it locks, and power back on. A lithium pack’s management system can enter protection mode during shipping or storage and briefly read as having no voltage, which is normal rather than a defect; connecting your charger usually wakes it up. Shipping is free, your order leaves our warehouse within three business days, and real people answer our phone whenever you have a question.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you fly with your chair, choose the 10Ah, which Pride specifies as the airline compliant option. If you want maximum range for full day outings and do not fly, the 20Ah more than doubles your distance to 16.4 miles. Many owners keep both.

Pride specifies the airline compliant battery for this chair as the 10Ah only, and airline policies on the larger pack’s watt hour rating vary. If air travel matters, order the 10Ah. If you already own a 20Ah, confirm with your carrier well before your trip.

Roughly double. The 10Ah delivers up to 8 miles at 200 pounds and 7 miles at 300 pounds. The 20Ah delivers up to 16.4 miles at 200 pounds and 14.4 miles at 300 pounds, for 2 extra pounds of battery weight.

Yes, and it is a sensible setup. Keep the 20Ah installed for long days at home and the 10Ah charged and ready for flights. Together they weigh only 12 pounds, and swapping takes seconds with no tools.

Lithium batteries typically deliver three to five years of service when properly maintained, far longer than lead acid. Lifespan depends on how often you ride, charging habits, and storage conditions, and regular charging helps the pack reach its full potential.

Signs include reduced range, the gauge dropping faster than it used to, charges that no longer last a full outing, or a pack that will not reach full charge. Any of these tells you the cells are wearing out.

No. The Ultra Light uses its own packs, separate from the Carbon family. The Carbon models use 12Ah or 10Ah packs specific to those chairs. If you are unsure which chair you have, send us photos through the form above and we will confirm.

No tools and no wiring. Power off the chair, release the old pack, seat the new pack in its place until it locks, and power back on. Most people finish in under five minutes.

Usually not. Lithium packs have a battery management system that can enter protection mode during shipping or storage, which can read as no voltage. Connecting your charger normally wakes it up. If it does not, call us and we will help you sort it out.

Store the pack in a cool, dry place away from temperature extremes. For storage longer than a month, leave it around 60 percent charged and top it off monthly. This matters especially for a spare pack that sits between trips.
