Product Description

Your Pride Baja Bandit was built to leave the pavement behind. Eight miles per hour, 400 pounds of capacity, real ground clearance, and a 53 inch turning radius that keeps it usable indoors when the adventure is over. All of that runs on a single lithium ion battery pack rather than the heavy lead acid pairs older outdoor scooters carry, which is a large part of why the Bandit stays light enough for feather touch disassembly. When the pack fades, so does the range that made the Bandit worth choosing.

Pride offered the Bandit in two battery configurations, so check which one your scooter carries before ordering. The 36 volt, 20 amp hour pack is the standard configuration, replacing Pride part BAT2204149, and delivers roughly 11 miles at the full 400 pound capacity. The 36 volt, 40 amp hour pack is the extended range configuration, reaching up to 29 miles at 220 pounds and 22.5 miles at 400 pounds, effectively doubling how far you can go before turning back. If your riding takes you out on trails rather than around the block, the 40Ah pack is the one that changes your day.

Every lithium battery we sell is tested before it ships, verified against your model’s charging system, and protected by a built in battery management system that guards against overcharging, overheating, over discharge, and short circuits. Lithium also holds its charge for months in storage and typically delivers three to five years of service, which matters on a scooter that may sit through a winter between adventures.

Your battery ships partially charged, which is standard for safe lithium transport, so charge it fully before your first ride. One thing worth knowing: a lithium pack’s management system can enter protection mode during shipping or storage, and a pack in protection mode may briefly read as having no voltage. That is normal, not a defect, and connecting your charger usually wakes it up. If yours does not respond, call us rather than guessing and we will work through it with you.

Installation takes minutes with no tools: power off the scooter, release the old pack, seat the new one until it locks, and power back on. Always use a charger intended for lithium batteries, never a lead acid charger. Every battery carries our 12 month warranty, shipping is free, your order leaves our warehouse within three business days, and real people answer our phone whenever you have a question.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lithium batteries typically deliver three to five years of service, far longer than lead acid. Lifespan depends on how often you ride, charging habits, and storage conditions, and regular charging helps the pack reach its full potential.

Signs include reduced range, the gauge dropping faster than it used to, charges that no longer last a full outing, or a pack that will not reach full charge. Any of these tells you the cells are wearing out.

Check the label on your current pack, since Pride built the Bandit in both configurations. If the label is worn or you are unsure, send us photos through the form above and we will identify it for you, usually the same day.

In many cases yes, and it roughly doubles your range, from about 11 miles at full capacity to 22.5 miles, or up to 29 miles at lighter rider weights. Send us your scooter details and we will confirm the fit and charger compatibility before you order.

One. The Baja Bandit runs a single 36 volt lithium ion pack rather than the two 12 volt batteries found in lead acid scooters. That single pack is part of why the Bandit disassembles so easily for transport.

Usually not. Lithium packs have a battery management system that can enter protection mode during shipping or storage, which can read as no voltage. Connecting your charger normally wakes it up. If it does not, call us and we will help you sort it out.

They ship partially charged, which is standard practice for safe lithium transport. Give the pack a full charge before your first ride, and charging after every outing keeps it healthy long term.

It draws more current per mile. Grass, gravel, inclines, and soft ground all work the pack harder than smooth pavement, so your real world range on trails will be shorter than the rated figures, and heavy outdoor use shortens pack life somewhat.

Yes, these packs are designed to work with the Bandit’s original lithium charger. Always use a charger intended for lithium batteries, never a lead acid charger, since the wrong charger can damage the pack and void your warranty.

Store the pack in a cool, dry place away from temperature extremes. For storage longer than a month, leave it around 60 percent charged and top it off monthly. Lithium holds a charge in storage far better than lead acid.
